The photo's above just show the difference between an old worn out roof and a new full ballasted EPDM roof.
Many flat roofs look like the photos on the left, under the old felt, damp is setting in, but this home owner had the fore sight to have us replace the roof before any real damage was done, now for the next twenty years  they won't need to worry as our roof comes with a standard twenty year guarantee. We know the EPDM will last 40 to 50 years, so not only will our customers have peace of mind but we do to.
 

ETHYLENE PROPYLENE DIENE MONOMER (“EPDM”)
 

EPDM or Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer is a high-density rubber that is very durable.

  • Has some characteristics that make it especially suitable for gaskets, electrical insulation and lamination.

  • Can be finished to an extremely smooth surface.

  • Has great resistance to abrasives, tearing, solvents and high temperatures.

  • Has excellent flexibility at high and low temperatures.

  • Is extremely effective as a single ply roofing material.


 

What products are made from EPDM?
EPDM rubber is used in automotive weather-stripping and seals, glass-run channel, radiator, garden and appliance hose, tubing, belts, electrical insulation, roofing membrane, rubber mechanical goods, plastic impact modification, thermoplastic vulcanisates and motor oil additive applications.

It is also used to make moisture barriers, pond liners/membranes, vehicle glazing systems, bumpers, gaskets, o-rings, valves and pumps and so on.

 

How do I know if I own a product that is made of or contains EPDM?

Well the chances are you do.  If you suspect that you have purchased a product that is made of or contains EPDM, your best source to confirm this is the manufacturer of the product, although all of us at some point will buy or use a product/products that contain EPDM.
